Hello all!
Here's a look at what's going on this week at school:
6th Grade Math: Students will finish working on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals. All of their Digits lessons need to be completed by the end of the week. If they do not finish these lessons in class, they will need to work on it as homework. There will be a quiz on Friday over the lessons from this week. Additionally, students who did not score an 80% or higher on their decimal-to-fractions conversion chart last week will take this quiz again on Friday. Grades from their quizzes last week should be entered into Echo soon.
HW: Complete all Digits lessons by Friday, complete 60 minutes of IXL practice
Language Arts: This week students will be reading and analyzing multiple different texts to determine the author's purpose and the sequence of events. We will be reading nonfiction articles, short stories, and some consumer documents to practice these skills. There will be a Common Assessment given this week (Friday) over author's purpose and sequences of events.
HW: Complete at least two Achieve 3000 articles at 75% or higher, read 30 minutes each night
Science: Students just presented their 5-Day Weather Forecasts. Their grades for this project will be entered into Echo soon.
Look for some examples of well-done forecasts to be posted on our webpage later this week: http://pblinnovationacademy.weebly.com/
PBL: This will be the final week for our "Who Am I?" project. As the students have finished their science project, they will use all PBL work time to complete the last benchmarks of this narrative project.
Other Important Dates and Information:*AIMS Web Reading Assessment (fluency and comprehension) will take place next week
As always, if you have other questions, joys, or concerns, please feel free to email any of us. Have a great week!
